If you’ve been to Drizzl’d, you’ve likely noticed our menu has some quite 'interesting' and unconventional names for our dishes. We believe in breaking the mold, getting creative, and having fun with the names of our menu items because—why not?

One standout example is our beloved "Michael Jackson." Curious about what goes into it? It’s a delightful concoction of melted milk and white chocolate generously Drizzl’d (see what we did there?) over warm, freshly made doughnut balls and crowned with a sprinkling of crushed Oreos. It’s as decadent as it sounds, and it’s become a favourite among our customers.

But why the name "Michael Jackson"? At Drizzl’d, we're all about evoking nostalgia and whisking you back to the carefree days of good music and great memories, giving you a brief escape from the daily grind. Growing up in the 90s, I often listened to my musically eclectic Filipino parents sing along to various pop hits blaring from our old stereo. One such hit was Michael Jackson's "Black or White."

Given this song's lively, inclusive spirit and its title, the name felt like the perfect fit for our dessert. The Michael Jackson dessert features a black and white colour scheme, mirroring the song's message of harmony and unity. It’s a playful nod to a piece of pop culture that many of us (or our older siblings and parents) remember fondly wrapped up in a delicious treat that brings a smile.

So, while you might have first thought the name was just a quirky choice or there may have been another reason why we named it the ‘Michael Jackson’, the truth is it’s actually a homage to a musical legend. It was designed and named to stir up nostalgia and create a connection beyond just the palate. At Drizzl’d, it’s not just about the flavours; it’s about the memories and moments they evoke.
